1983 Maxda RX7

About four months ago I began to have trouble starting the RX7.  I had to pump the foot-feed a number of times to get it to fire and start.  As time went by it became harder and harder to start where I would pump it 10 times and then 20 times and even more.  Now a couple of weeks ago it would not fire at all.  I have added fuel injector cleaners, Mystery Oil and what-not with no results.  I usually only drove the car once a week and the gas may be a little old.  Sounds like a fuel filter/fuel pump problem to me.  Next stop is my mechanic unless you have some other ideas. Thanks Pete.

Stale fuel can play havoc on a fuel system. Rather than additives I would drain and refill with fresh fuel and start from there. While this may solve the problem, you may have a delivery issue such as bad pump, clogged filter, etc.
