2001 cadillac deville: OIVAA Transmission 4T80E. Need to replace TCC clutch solenoid switch and replace torque convertor in the trans. A chain in transmission clicks from being loose when shifting into first gear Car has 63,000. miles and is immaculate. It costs locally $2000.00 =$900.00 to remove & install trans plus $1100.00 to rebuild trans. Cannot monitor work, so do not know if solenoid only will be replaced without rebuilding clutches, replacing torque convertor, and replace all interior trans electric for this price. Where and how can I get this transmission problem solved for the cheapest price with good mechanical repair? I can purchase a used transmission that matches for $400.00 to $700.00 with high mileage with no guarantee that it works, and salvage yard wants the old core! Installation would still cost $900.00. Please advise!!!
