2010 Ford Escape clicking noise

When moving forward there is a clicking sound, when tourq is applied. There is a small noise when slowing down. Do you have any ideal what this could be?

Without hearing the noise I would be speculating but it could be anything from the CV axles to brake pads to the torque converter for the transmission. The best way to know for sure is to have a qualified technician formally inspect and diagnose your concern.
