gear shift problem

When I shift my van into drive it shows that it is in drive and Neutral at the same time but seems like it is driving fine. Is this a transmission issue or maybe just and electrical issue?

Depending on the year, make and model of vehicle, it could be anything from a simple adjustment to a faulty relay to a bad body control module. The best way to know for sure is to have a qualified technician formally inspect and diagnose your concern.
