Eerie, soulful and amazing.  Quite the repetoire of sounds, actually.  The chuffing sound reminiscent of purring, to my ears.  Thanks for the link!

That is SO beautiful. I have always found whale songs to be so soulfull and soothing. Would it be really moviegeek of me to say that I loved the Star Trek movie that was based on the premise that a sonar communication was sent to the earth looking for a responding whale song, and when it couldn't get one (because the whales had become extinct), a meteor or something was gradually headed to the planet to wipe it out. I don't remember the details, but the message was pretty clear - lose the whales and we begin to lose ourselves and our own survival.
