New Year's Resolutions

As if you've never heard this before! I'd like to take my life back. I'd like to lose weight in the New Year, improving my health and be able to travel again. I've lost 80 pounds since Feb ruary and my knees do feel better but I do miss traveling the world. There is nothing like learing a new phrase in French or viewing the sunset off Santorini. I'm going back there!

New year's resoluions

I promise next year AAA that I will not  call you to jump-start my car. You were so patient , kind, considerate and always there. I had no money for a new battery at the time. Now I have a brand new one Santa brought it. lol

My husband and I were stranded on an unusually hot day in Venice , Florida for December . We were at Albertson  car lot with a frozen turkey and other frozen goods.  That was just one place, in a  three week period  we were stuck at most stores we shopped in. A couple of times our home. I believe it was 5 times.

And when we vacation this year I will use triple A , I never have before but the service I received I trust the hotels you participate in. I will use the shopping discounts this is all new to me. You have helped us when things were more then just tight , thank-you for not scoulding us to get a new battery. Your service people just smiled and ribbed us up so we could go .

New Year's Resolution 2010

Wow, 2010 blows my mind. Time is flying by. I usually don't make resolutions but since I quit smoking around this time 5 years ago, I guess I make the occasional one. I resolve to do my best to get rid of my credit card debt. It will take a while but the first step is to put my cards into the "debtonator" aka the shredder!!!  Other than that, I guess try to be nicer regardless of how the other person treats me. Maybe they are having a bad day, bad week, bad year. I feel blessed so Smile! It's free and contagious!  Happy New Year AAA!!!

New Years Resolution - Stressful Debt

[ Edited ]

The first step to creating a resolution for 2010 is reflecting on the previous year and its resolution. Was it too weak? Was it too much of a challenge? Did we give it our all? Do we even remember it?

My 2009 resolution may be a common one this year. It was to work on my debt. I did a righteous job of it. I worked six, sometimes seven days a week. I called numerous company's, attempting, and sometimes succeeding at get interest rates lowered. I transferred balances. I took advantage of my AAA discounts. I scrimped beyond believe. I even gave up cable. Imagine no television for three months!

Yes, I succeeded! I attacked my debt like a fat kid attacks cake. Unfortunately the past couple of months have been very tough on me. My work and my pay have been cut drastically. It should come back in mid January but I'm not sure, so I worry. I'm still in a lot of debt. I need to work just as hard this upcoming year as the previous, with the same resolution. I fear I may have to look for a new job and we all know about Florida's unemployment rate. I'm confident I would find something fairly fast but even a couple weeks off would really hurt. What if it was more like a couple months? What if it didn't last? What if I had to take another cut in pay?

These are the questions rolling around in my head as I ponder this years resolution. I want to work on my debt. I'm proud of what I've accomplished this year. On the other hand, the stress level these past few months has been way too high. Factoring all this into my master goal for 2010, I've come up with my resolution with time to spare. "I will keep working as hard as I can, still sacrificing as much as I can, without stressing, realizing this may take me longer than I had originally hoped, but I will one day be debt free." A bit wordy I suppose but it works for me.

Happy New Years! May we all succeed in our realistic resolutions!

credit card debt

You are to be congratulated for your efforts. When I had multiple card debt, I paid off the one with the highest interest rate by making more than the required payment until it was gone.  At the same time I paid the required on the others.  Then one by one I continued that way paying the highest rate card off and then the next.  I now have one card I am paying off.  It has taken a bit of time, but this year I should be our of the credit card mess.  Good luck to you. It can be done.

New Year Resolutions

I've been a procrastinator for most of my life.  It's my nature to be slow, but thorough.  So, for this coming 2010, I plan to clean up the many small tasks that now clutter my basement workbench/workshop !

I recently was proclaimed "One year cancer-free", so now have the energy and drive to get back to working all of those pesky jobs around the house.  Besides, I makes you feel goopd to accomplish things!

New Year Resolution

My 2010 resolution is to pay off my credit cards along with my wife's, to stick to our new budget, to limit our vacations to one only this year, and take off 2 inches off my waist.  My wife wants to take 5 off hers.  She says she's not making any resolutions this year. I don't believe she made any last year either.  I'm looking forward to putting the $1000 sweepstakes money towards our only vacation which we will definately need if we stick to these resolutions!  David

New Years Resolution

This year my husband and I have decided to come home early one day a week to take our wonderful Labrador somewhere special. It could be to the dog park, on a hike in the mountains, or to Bruster's for doggie ice cream.  This will allow us for some quality time with on another and with our favorite family members.IMG_1445.JPG

Did we forget how to laugh?

It's sad to see so many people looking so sad, depressed and gloomy. Everyone seems to need a pill for everything. We need to laugh more, take control of your body and life, start to look at the world you live in and notice how beautiful it really is. Peace and love to all.

new years resolution

my resolutions are going strange but they are working.  Just recently I ran into one of my older relatives on facebook.  I never met my older cousin because she had married early and was gone and we played with my other cousin which was not fun.  Oh well my second day at work was just as nice as the first.  I really like it and only ork the 5 hours just to work myself up to longer hour a little at a time.  So far it is very easy and my leg is doing pretty wel.

My New Year's Resolution

My resolution for 2010 is to do better than I did in 2009.  This resolution covers every aspect of my life. I want to do better regarding my eating habits, my relationships, my personal growth, my service to my fellow-man, my spending habits, and so on. I am committed to doing better one day at a time, one situation at a time, one choice at a time. I sincerely hope my resolution will make the world that I'm in direct contact with a better place.

Like most people, I really would like to take better care of myself this year.  That means eating better (and less!), establishing a consistent and reasonable exercise schedule and getting enough sleep.  I also need to say "no" more!

New Year Resolution

After seeing the joy it brings to my 87 year old mom to receive a hand written note through regular U.S. Mail on a weekly basis from my cousin, I made a resolution to write and send more hand written notes and letters to friends and relatives. As much as technology has made it easier to communicate with people long distance it cannot replace the joy some people get when they receive an "old fashioned" letter in the mail. It is a lost art and needs to revitalized.

MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

Try not to stay in the same old holding pattern(like an  airplane)remember your departure and attempt to make it to your destination! We are always saying we want to make changes for the new year, however we tend to do the same old things and expect something new. Remember, if you expect something new you have to come out of the holding pattern.

I am trying this year to not let politics consume me like it did in 2009....this year will be devoted to action instead of just watching from the sideline.

we need to start over

Now that we know how much our freedoms have been taken away the past 100 years and can see we are so restricted in so many ways, we need to vote out those who are not willing to let the constitution limit what they are allowed to do.

health and fitness

I recently lost 30 pounds (again :smileyhappy:) and determined to keep it off.  I have found the following to work for me:  weigh once a week (more than that and I get discouraged over daily fluctuations), drinking a gallon of water with flavored benefiber and crystal light, multivitamin with metabolism support, and exercise!  I bought several 30 minute exercise dvds which are easier to fit into my schedule than 60 minute ones and harder to talk myself out of doing.  So far, I've been able to maintain and even lost 3 pounds over the holidays.
