My New Year's Resolution

[ Edited ]

My resolution is that i will not be defined by my job loss. It's been only a week now, that I lost my job of 12 years, and I will fight every day against defeat. This year, I will put Hope first.

New Year's Resolution

My goal for this year is to volunteer more either in our church family or local community.  There are lots of people with no family support who could benefit from just an hour of my time each week.

catastrophe

With the recent earthquake in Haiti, it makes me want to be extra prepared should anything like that happen in the States. My new years's resolution was to put more away in my 401k, but I think I will take it a step further by always paying my mortgage ahead by at least a month...just in case:smileyhappy:

New Years Reslution

Stop all the negativity and be positive!!! That is hard to do with all that is going on in this world. However, I told myself that a smile is much easier than a frown. It is amazing how my resolution has made me a more thoughtful person and given me more energy to do the things I do. March on!!!

New Year's Resolution

This year I'm not going to do the same old, "lose weight" resolution.  I want to make a complete change by getting healthy and staying that way.  I'm  changing my eating habits, my workout habits and cleaning out the old junk that I don't want anymore.  Moving on is my theme for 2010! Happy New Year :smileyhappy:

New Years Resolution Contest/ My New Resolution.. Keep Praying "Miracles Do Happen"

We must not doubt our ability to survive during challenging times. Keep praying ,Miracles Do Happen. My sister is recovering from six (6) brain aneurysms and a stroke she suffered in November 2009. The doctors had originally given up on her and wanted to unplug her from life support. They thought that she would never be able to talk, walk, hear, or speak again. They were not sure if she would remember anything." Keep Praying, Miracles Do  Happen" God is able to make a way out of no way. Not only did my sister recover, she's walking, talking , have her memory , and been discharged from the hospital. The Power of Prayer kept her plugged up to God. .."Keep Praying, Miracles Do Happen"

New Year's Resolutions

Two resolutions: To start taking my lunch to work rather than eat out every day, in an attempt to improve my diet and save some money; and to finally take a portrait of my girlfriend that she will actually like.

New Year's Resolutions

I don’t normally make resolutions, but this year I feel compelled to commit to the following:  1)  Find a new job (have been laid off for a year now); 2) Grow more in my spiritual life; 3) Find new cost savings to improve the family budget; 4) Be hopeful for this year and thankful for the blessings I have.

entering online contests

It takes a lot of time to enter contests online, but I have actually won a few decent prizes.

People say I'm lucky, but you can't win 'em if you don't enter!

A new sort of Chrismas

Our family began to finally put into practice this Christmas what we had long talked about--making the gift giving sensible.  We made 50 quarts of pickles and 30 quarts of apple butter.  We used organically grown pickles and apples and even included fair trade sugar--it made them taste wonderful.  We included custom labels that expressed our desire to wish Jesus a happy birthday and spread the cheer.  How wonderful it was to give away so many heart felt gifts to all sorts of people during the Christmas season.  We plan on doing even more pickles and apple butter next year!

RVs and Motorcycles

That sounds like so much fun!  My dream has always been to truly see all the great cities and landscapes this country has to offer. An RV would be a great way to travel.

If you haven't heard, AAA is going to be offering Motorcycle coverage soon.  So, not only will your RV be covered, but also your bike.

Have you checked out the drive trips at AAA.com?  There's some great ones throughout the US and Canada.

New Year's Resolution

I usually don't make new year's resolutions but this year I decided to try to balance my body, mind, and spirit.

Hubby and I joined the local city recreation center and are averaging 3 times a week.

I have meditated in the past but will try to meditate 3 - 4 times a week.

I am working at being more spiritual; changing my inside.

New Year's Resolutions!

This is my year to join my favorite book club, work out at least 3 times a week to maintain fitness, spend more time with my family, enroll in graduate school and go out with girlfriends at least once a month.  I never dreamed of becoming a single parent but I will not let that stop me from fulfilling my short term goals.

I can do it!

Up In The Air

I recently went to go see the movie (Up In The Air) and was pleasantly surprised to where I actually enjoyed it beyond my expectations! It is the kind of film that everyone should see at least once, because at one point or another - in one way or another we have all been "up in the air" in life. Truly, there is something that absolutely everyone can relate to. The messages are excellent and the writing is just outstanding.

With that said, if this posting enables me to win the sweepstakes, it will allow me the opportunity to get "up in the air" and travel - which is what I enjoy doing most. Thank you for your interest. :smileyhappy:

New Year's

I am becoming more involved in my community. I have dates per month to volunteer at our local food pantry which helps numerous local families struggling without food and resources. I also will be continuing to make sure our neighborhoods are kept clean and safe. I remind the local roadway committee to come out monthly to clean up the roads where litter has collected and notify the local city neighborhood watch department whenever there is something that needs to be reported. I am happy about my decisions to stay active and this remains my New Year's resolution. Giving to others and sharing concerns.

New Year's Resolution

I have resolved to be a more cool-headed driver than before. Since January 1st, I have been careful not to get upset when being tail-gated by more aggressive drivers; I pull off the road and let them speed on ahead, then pull back on, continuing at my original speed. If the car ahead is slower than I wish to go I remember that they may be having car trouble, vision problems, or a crying baby aboard. I remember that this could be my daughter and I would want other drivers to be patient with her and not put her life at risk. Hopefully, by year's end I will have developed positive attitude changes that will have considerably reduced my personal stress level, resulting in better overall personal health.

New Year Resolution

My New Year Resolution is read my Bible more and witness more. To uplift the spirits of as many people as I can.  To give more and take less. To show family and friends how much I love and appreciate them.

New year's resolutions

Thus far this has been a terrible year for me (hours cut, high utility bills, etc.).  However I have at least worked on my resolutions some. I do exercise and have for a long time but I eat to too much.  I plant seeds for my garden, but then forget  about them.  As anyone who has a degree in pop psychology can see, I don't follow through on my good intentions.  I'm saying to myself that even though some things may be trying now, it won't be helped by abandoning my goals.
